This millennium thing could be a very big business opportunity. Alvin Toffler is supposed to have said that there would be a whole new industry created for remembering the new millennium.

Then, there's Y2K. The total cost worldwide to find and fix things has been estimated at over $800 billion with more than $200 billion of that being spent in the US. Also, what about the predictions of a severe recession caused by all this?

There could be a huge income boost for business equal to or greater than the cost of all the fixing and checking and updating.

Look at all the new sales being made. For one thing, there's the survivalist phenomenon. Lots of businesses are very busy nowadays selling supplies and equipment -- even special housing and land. And don't forget all the purchases of new computer hardware and software.

Probably just starting is the boom in marketing millennium commemorative products. Coffee mugs and tee shirts have to add up to sales for someone. How about the parties and celebrations? More good economic news there.

Looks like things might be working out in favor of a big boost in world economies instead of any recession.
